It was sometimes frustrating but mostly entertaining and ultimately rewarding. I liked using Library Thing and creating the Avatar was way big fun. Technology is a wonderful thing especially in the information seeking business. But I cannot tell a lie. I would rather spend my time reading a good book.maggiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18264905277688661708noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8170871880737396807.post-20201721449948772942007-11-20T12:23:00.000-08:002007-11-20T12:29:13.303-08:00Audio BooksI explored Overdrive, Netlibrary and Project Gutenburg. Netlibrary had a wonderful tutorial. They were all user friendly but Project Gutenburg was the easiest.I found the most entertaining and unexpected entry on Project Gutenburg "human-read". Human-read was pretty much what I assumed to be the norm.

I will definitely use these sites the next time I fly.maggiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18264905277688661708noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8170871880737396807.post-52891137830749757662007-11-20T11:55:00.000-08:002007-11-20T12:01:30.994-08:00PodcastsI found this research a little bit frustrating because I seem to lack the appropriate plugins to upload some podcasts. I preferred using podcast.net and podcastalley.com.
I found a book and poetry site on podcast.net that looks interesting.

http://www.podcast.net/rss/cat/130

The merlin podcasting site was the most fun. I listened to an interview with Arlo Guthrie and Family from Kankakee Library.maggiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18264905277688661708noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8170871880737396807.post-7597580082569306952007-11-19T13:11:00.000-08:002007-11-21T07:21:14.704-08:00You TubeI explored 3 video sites. Dailymotion was obscene. Metacafe seemed fun and easy to use.
I like You Tube the best. There are some useful sites. Here is one that I enjoy -

http://booklovers.pbwiki.com/Princeton%20Public%20Librarymaggiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18264905277688661708noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8170871880737396807.post-55940088944926038762007-11-19T09:56:00.000-08:002007-11-19T10:09:19.710-08:00Web 2.0, Library 2.0The need for libraries to be innovative in applying new technologies to enhace information seeking is rather obvious. I did enjoy many of the discussions. I particularly liked Michael Casey's discussion on "disruptive technologies".maggiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18264905277688661708noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8170871880737396807.post-28639910413167451402007-11-19T09:50:00.000-08:002007-11-19T09:56:11.781-08:00TechnoratiI am not that into blogging.
